We were delighted to be invited to take part in the NatWest Charity Champions League Table Football Competition held at their Lincoln offices on Brayford Wharf East.

This year’s event, which aims to raise funds for local charities, saw 16 local businesses battle it out during the group stages aiming for a place in the finals night, which was held on Wednesday 25th May.

For our debut year, we were unlucky with a very difficult draw in the group stages, and faced competition from long standing champions, Sills & Betteridge, and an experienced Saul Fairholm team. Unfortunately their skills proved too much for our team and we were eliminated from the competition!

But all was not lost when we learnt the news that we were being invited back to the Maltings for the wooden spoon play off. We didn’t want to leave empty handed, so after two tightly fought play off games, we were proud to lift the trophy (spoon) at the end of the evening for being the worst team in the whole event!

Thank you to Natwest Commercial for hosting a great evening, and raising over £1000 for fantastic local causes! We promise to practice and try harder next year!
